Aromatherapy Massage is the slow, gentle stroking movements with the hands of therapist in contact to the body of a person. The main purpose of these movements is it is beneficial both physically and emotionally to the body.

Some principles must be followed for performing massage
  • Do not allow the therapist to use hard or heavy massage movements, gentle movements are always safest and most effective in the long term.
  • Do not undergo massage directly on the bones and never massage areas that have been fractured.
  • Massage should not be performed if there are blood clots and don't undergo massage on the areas that are affected or injured.
  • Massage to the abdominal area of a person who is having stomach problems or if pregnant must be avoided.
  • Do not massage if the person recently consumed a big meal, alcohol or addictive substances.
  • Selection of essential oils is very important for body massage as they are chosen for therapeutic effect, and not the fragrance.
