What is a Roof Construction?

The important part of constructing building homes or any other structures is the roof. Roof protects the interior part of the building from the windy or any other weather conditions and acts as a protective outer layer. To construct these roofs, the load-bearing walls should be in place. There are many number of roof designs are available and can be constructed using different methods that vary according to local conditions, product availability and local customs.

The main component of roof construction is achieving a suitable design. The design can be achieved using three main elements that is using of roofing materials, process of construction process, and the overall durability and cost-effectiveness of the roof for the application. These three elements decide the appropriateness of a particular roof for a given application.

Materials must be chosen based on the local climatic weather conditions for constructing the roof because the traditional thatch roofing materials of a tropical island hut would not be a suitable form of roofing material in the extreme cold and snow conditions.

While constructing, local conditions play a major part in deciding the roof. A peak with steeply pitched roofs are not well suitable for snow fall areas because the snow will shreds and covers the houses and can cause a high damage. A broad, low-peaked designed roof construction protects the building's interior from rain and causes less damage when compared to peaked roofs.

Durability, aesthetics and cost of a particular type of roof construction depends on the design process of the roof construction. Some beautiful tiled roofs look beautiful but not suitable for weather conditions. And some lesser quality tiled roofs suitable for certain weather conditions.

How to do Laundry While Traveling?

When travelers go abroad on longer trips, they often need a more clothes because they stay for months. But the problem here is airlines will restrict not to bring more than the permissible weight to the destination. In these cases, travelers need to wash their clothes regularly to wear for that many days. There are two options for washing their clothes. One is giving clothes to the laundry which costs more money and the option is hand-washing your clothes on your own.

However, for travelers who can bear cash for giving their clothes to laundry it is not hard. But for those people who unable to bear such costs can easily wash their clothes with in a less amount of time and in their hotels only. The only requirements for washing are a bucket or a sink (sink closed with sink stopper to remain water in the sink), detergent solutions or shampoos, ropes etc.

In most countries buckets are not provided. You need to wash your clothes in the sink. For this, first see that if the sink is clean. After that you place the sink stopper in the drain. Turn on the tap to fill the sink with required amount of water. The water will remain in a sink due to the placing of sink stopper. Then, add detergent or shampoo in water for getting mild soap solution and then soak your dirty clothes in that sink for half an hour to one hour. Here make sure that you clean the dirty parts on the cloths by simply rubbing with hands for removing the dirty particles. Then rinse with enough clean water until the soap water comes out from the clothes. Then squeeze the washed clothes with hand to remove excess amount of water. Then dry your clothes by hanging or stringing on the wires you brought or on the chairs, bed corners, windows of the hotels. For better drying of the clothes you dry your clothes under sun, fan or you can use air dryer (if emergency).

The above process will saves you lot of cash when traveling and also it keeps you fresh.

Make Your Kitchen Look Beautiful

Kitchen is one of the main rooms in any home because it is often used several times per day. It is a room where the family spends often to eat, chit-chat etc. Sometimes kitchen looks very odd and vulnerable because the functions affects the way we are using it.

Many people think that kitchens are used to cook but that's not correct. Many things are involved in the kitchen like cutting vegetables, cooking the food, garbage collector, and washing dispensaries etc. When we are spending an hour or even more time each day in our kitchen, we look for kitchen to look and feel good because there can be a huge impact on health if kitchens are not maintained well.

Many people are making their kitchens to look beautiful by adding some decorative features to the kitchen. To do all these requires money. However some things you can do to improve the look, feel, and functionality of your kitchen that don't cost anything!.

  • First clean the kitchen table because it is a mess and you will not feel comfortable in the kitchen. After eating wipe the table so that no residues will be found on the table. Use a spray bottle to keep it shiny clean and germ free.
  • Never think to invest in brand-new appliances instead you become inspired to cook a new dish for your family with a fun, functional gadget, like a citrus juicer.
  • Do not try to buy cabinetry instead you make the existing one to look newer one by adding extra shelves and hangers. You can even free up space by suspending your pots and pans from the ceiling. A pot rack adds style, makes them easily accessible, and creates more cabinet space for other items.
  • Clean off your kitchen counters because every time you need to use that space should be free and ready.
  • If you have extra space but there is no shelves then try adding or stacking large baskets for holding onions, potatoes, or other items.
  • Plant herbs in pots for your kitchen so that it will add freshness to the atmosphere and your food.
  • If you have all-wooden seating, a fresh and modern look is to mix up the dining area furniture by alternating chair cushion colors.
  • Dirty dishes should always be taken care of after meals. Rinse them and put them into the dishwasher, or quickly hand wash them after every meal to make sure that they are not an eyesore. Dirty dishes piled on the table, are just simply uninviting and unattractive. No one wants to eat or spend time in a dirty kitchen.
  • Make sure that your kitchen stove is good and clean. Always keep clean after food preparation just for the sake of being sanitary.
  • Arrange the storage boxes in a descending order so that it looks good and it is convenient to pick the correct item when you need.

How Important is Server Up Time to Your Website?

Server up time plays a key role in great performance of the website. However, any business owner should consider the server up time while deciding the website hosting service.

There are millions of providers of web hosting services which claim that they provide 99.9% up time for the clients but no single web hosting provider can live up to that claim. If you find the company which provides you of 99.9% service but they won't put in those servers and place them in a different servers. So, therefore we need to find out whether you are really getting that amount of up time from provider or not.

Server up time auditing is a method of finding whether a business owner is getting 99.9% of the server up time from the provider of the web hosting services or not. Some companies offer these services free and some are premium. However, we should not expect same amount of up time as what the web hosting company provides because they tend to have hundreds of data center and it is impossible to know which one they are using and which one you are placed into.

However, no reputable website host wants to ever experience downtime within its network and wants to provide all customers with 100% up time. In reality, even most qualified and network teams skill set cannot stop or prevent server downtime from occurring because sometimes hard drives and routers fail, storms cause power failures, connection issues with bandwidth providers and outages when updating operating system and software to keep everything working properly.

Know the Rules of Checkers

There are many types of checker games as per their country rules. This game is also known as the 'Draughts'. This is a two-player board game.

The Board:
The board contains 64 small squares, which are arranged in 8 x 8 grid. The squares are alternating colors with light and dark colors. The game is played on the dark colored squares. The board should be placed in such a way that the light colored square comes to the right hand side of the each player.

Arrangement of pieces:
Each player contains 12 pieces to play. One player has light colored pieces, while the other has dark colored pieces. Each player arranges their pieces to the dark squares of the first three rows.

Moves:
The player who gets pieces back should get a chance to move first and these are determined by tossing a coin. While playing the series of games the players should alternately get the black.

Move your checker forward one space diagonally in either direction to open the dark square. A checker can only move in forward directions until it become king and you may not land on the square which is already occupied by the one of your checker. Play an alternate turn and make only one move per turn.

Jumping:
The checkers can jump if there is an opponent checker before you and the next diagonal to the opponent checker is empty/open. The checker jumps from the opponent checker and removes the checker from which you jumped. That means you have captured the opponent checker. If one jump leads to another jump, you can continue with the next step with the same turn. Continue the same until all possible jumps are completed. But when your checker reaches the last row with all his jumps at a time and crowned, the checker may not have the chance to jump anymore, and your turn will be completed.

You have an opportunity to jump over the crowned/king checker of your opponent in the same way as you jump and capture the other checkers of your opponent.

You may not have chance to jump over your own checkers.

Crowning a king:
When one of your checkers reaches the last row of the board, then he is crowned as king and becomes a king. To king a checker the opponent places the same color checker on top of it. The king checker can move forward as well as backward.

Time management:
In officials the time limit for each move is five minutes, but in case where there is only one possible jump, the player has/allotted only one minute. If the player is able to move within his allotted time then the player losses the game.

Winner of the game:
The player who captures all his opponents’ checkers or when the player blocks the opponent checkers completely by which the latter cannot move anymore- wins the game.

Benefits of playing checkers:
These game improves the abilities of problem solving, time management, decision making, patience and self-control, social skills, concentration, memory recall etc.

Canker sores and cold sores are not one and same; they are different and are not linked to one another. The cold sore is a symptom of herpes. It is caused by Herpes simplex viruses is responsible for the infection. Whereas the canker sore is not infections or not contagious while the cold sore is.

Canker sores: These are the sores which appear inside the mouth and they are common. They are often caused by trauma and they heal quickly on their own without any treatment. These sores or ulcers are almost always found on the cheeks, inner lip, tongue and sometimes the throat. They are usually small and whitish or yellowish color in appearance and a reddish halo usually surrounds them. Rarely, a canker sore can be very large with a raised border.

Usually a canker sore appears or begins as a red bump or spot and produces a tingling or burning sensation. These sores are painful and better to consult a doctor if they are present more than two or three weeks.

There is no certain cause of causing canker sores. But genetics play a role. These are the harmless sores that may be caused by the white blood cells or lymphocytes which affect the lining of the mouth causing irritation and pain.

Emotional stress and certain foods like spicy and hot foods may increase the possibility. Biting the inner cheeks also may cause canker sores. Sometimes, vitamin deficiency causes canker sores. There is no permanent cure for canker sores but medications like numbing agents and protective ointments, avoiding spicy and hot foods may offer temporary relief for the pain.

Cold sores: Cold sores also known as fever blisters which are small and painful blisters that appear usually on the outer lip. These may appear on the face or also may be inside the mouth or nose. These are the most common places, but may appear anywhere on the body. They usually cause pain, burning sensation or itching before they burst and crust over.

Cold sores are caused by herpes virus Type I which appear around the mouth. This type of virus is highly contagious and infectious. It is contagious, that is one person may get the infection from another by bodily contact.

Some people never get a cold sore because the virus becomes never active in their body. Some may affect only once in their life but never again, whereas some people get cold sores frequently, 2 to 3 times per year because the virus becomes active periodically.

The infection erupts throughout the mouth and can cause painful lesions and some people may become ill for a week. But most of the people do not get sick by cold sores.

It's better and best to not to touch the active cold sores and washing your hands immediately is the next step if touched because it is highly contagious. It can pass to other parts of your body or to other persons easily who have weakened immune system such as infants or cancer or HIV patients.

Cold sores also clear up themselves without treatment. However, some antiviral ointment's usage can speed up the healing time if used in correct time. That is the ointment used in the initial stage, when you feel itching doesn't have much effect.

It's important to consult a doctor if the sores don't heal by themselves within 7 to 10 days, if get cold sores frequently and if you have bacterial infections such as fever, pus or spreading redness.

Is It Necessary to Have Contingent Liability Insurance?

Contingent liability is an insurance policy that can be taken by the business owner only when he is held liable for any bodily injury or personal injury, property damage that has been caused by the business when the owner of the business happens to be in contractual relations with another party. This liability insurance is also called as indirect liability which the business owners face while running their company.

Generally contingent liabilities may or may not be faced by the company, so the likelihood of loss is described as probable, remote or reasonably possible in the balance sheets of the company. Also the ability to estimate this type of loss is described as known, reasonably estimable, or sometimes not reasonably estimable.

Synar Program to Reduce Illegal Tobacco Sales to Minors

Among the many illicit drugs, tobacco has been in use more commonly. Both youth and adults of the United States have a habit of smoking. Even children under the age of 18 are found to use tobacco. In order to end the illegal tobacco sales to minors, the Synar Amendment program which is a state and federal partnership was conducted.

The Synar Amendment was enacted as Section 1926 of the federal Public Health Service Act. It aims the implementation of laws by the states and the U.S. jurisdictions to prohibit the sale and distribution of tobacco to minors. The Synar program is sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). As per the program, states and the U.S jurisdictions have to submit the details of the retailer violation rates that represent the percentage of inspected retail outlets which sold tobacco products to minors.

The report given by SAMHSA stated that the average national retailer violation rate of tobacco sales decreased to 9.3 percent. This was found to be the lowest level in the 14 year history of the program. Though there was an increase in this rate from 9.9 percent in fiscal year 2008 to 10.9 percent in the fiscal year 2009, a downward trend was seen in the fiscal year 2010. The highest rate was found to be 72.7 percent at the time of the inception of the Synar's program (14 years ago). How Vitamin A Helps in Treating Acne?

Vitamin A is considered to help a lot in treating acne, one of the common skin problems often seen in teens who are in various stages of puberty. The sebaceous glands of the hair follicles enlarge during this period and become clogged. This promotes an environment to inhabit bacteria causing inflammation. However, ensuring sufficient supply of vitamin A from natural diet or through supplements can help in reducing acne.

Excessive secretion of sebum, which is one of the main culprits of acne, is limited by vitamin A. It also prevents arbitrary eruptions by ensuring strength to the skin. Also, the vitamin is a powerful antioxidant, so it inhibits the harm of free radicals. In addition, it improves the immune system. These two effects help in eradicating acne causing bacteria.

Essential food sources such as carrots, sweet potato, turnip, broccoli, spinach, liver, egg and milk should be included in your daily routine. Specific supplements of vitamin A also help in treating acne. Vitamin A supplements are available in the form of retinol and retinyl-palmitate which are often used. Certain medications which include retinoic acid form of vitamin A are also given to treat various skin disorders including acne. Vegetables and fruits rich in retinoids and also the supplements restore skin and aid prevention of further problems of acne. However, foods with harmful saturated fats, prepackaged or fried foods should be avoided along with the right treatment. How to Identify Vitamin A Deficiency?

Vitamin A is one of the most essential vitamins having a great role in various major activities. Vitamin A deficiency is nothing but, reduction of required amounts of vitamin A in the body. Deficiency of this vitamin causes many disorders – simple or complex. But, how do you know that you are suffering from vitamin A deficiency? Here are some symptoms which help identifying it.

Health of skin, hair, eyes, and immune system are affected with vitamin A deficiency. People suffering from insufficient amounts of this vitamin suffer from increased susceptibility to viral infections – most often measles, pneumonia, chicken pox, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Loss of appetite, bone abnormalities, and growth retardation are some other common symptoms identified with inadequate intake of vitamin A. Children with decreased levels of vitamin A are risky to develop respiratory and diarrheal infections. Decreased growth rate, slow bone development, and decrease likelihood of survival from serious illness are even evident in them.

One of the important functions of vitamin A is vision support. Prolonged deficiency of the vitamin causes night blindness. This is caused because of the impaired production of rhodopsin. Rhodopsin is a compound in the retina that detects small amounts of light. Severe deficiency causes xerophthalmia which is a condition characterized by changes to the conjunctiva and cornea of the eye. The deficiency even contributes to maternal mortality and other poor outcomes in pregnancy and lactation. Hence, when you find any of these symptoms, consult your doctor to get immediate treatment. Include vitamin A-rich foods in your daily diet. Take vitamin A supplements to treat the disorders.
