The word of Automation came into existence in early 20th century. In the ancient times, many automation tools were made and used in order to reduce labor and also for simplification of complicated processes. Few of them are:
- It was mentioned in Greek history about the usage of some engineering devices for making arms, weapons for war fields. Their automation is called by the name "Talos".
- Egyptian history also gives us some clues of using some engineering devices which they used for the construction of pyramids. For the first time they created flywheel at Saqqara.
- Sindhu civilization also used some tools for construction of cities.
- Based on some evidence, china civilization used some machines for cutting stones mechanically and polishing the valuable stones.
- The recent of invention by American engineer was that he found out a machine which was used for stone cutting in Egyptian pyramids.
