Infrared Heater and Its Types

An infrared heater is a body with high temperature which transfers energy to the body with low temperature through electromagnetic radiation. Depending on the temperature of the emitting body, the wavelength of the infrared radiation ranges from 780 nm to 1 mm. Infrared heaters uses either a fuel to heat or electrically heated element as the emitting body. Infrared heaters have many applications like small electric heaters, gas wall heating units and ovens.

Following are the different types of infrared heaters:

Quartz Tube:
These type of infrared heaters use quartz tube as the heating source and these emit shorter wavelength electromagnetic wave than many other types of infrared heaters. These heaters are not very efficient for long term durable heating applications and can be used in the applications where a quick on and off heat source is required.

Metal Sheaths:
In these infrared heaters the heating element is surrounded by the metal sheath and they are typically tubular in shape and are rugged. These are used in any electric household oven.

Quartz Lamp:
They have a higher watt density, or more power, than quartz tube infrared heaters. They also have fast on and off response time, they are typically more durable and energy efficient. Quartz lamp infrared heaters usually emit a medium length electromagnetic wave and these are used in high speed production process.

Ceramic Infrared Heaters:
These are the most energy efficient infrared heaters. Most ceramic heaters exhibit at least 96 percent efficiency when it comes to converting electricity to heat. They are durable and used in applications where even and consistent heating is required, such as in curing. They are used in out door heaters and infrared saunas.

Effects on peer relations:
Addiction also damages the relation between the friends. The addicted persons may avoid the non addicted friends in favor of those who share and endorse their addictive habits. The World Health Organization (WHO) notes that within groups of alcohol abusing friends, incidents of violent crimes are disproportionately high.
