What Happens When There is Deficiency of Vitamin A in the Body?

Vitamin a is one of the vitamin known as retinol a light yellow compound which of type a fat-soluble vitamin that is available in the food sources such as apricots, broccoli, cantaloupe, carrots, kale, liver, mangoes, red peppers, spinach and sweet potatoes and apple and avoid the items such as tobacco and alcohol which will helps in loss of vitamin a. Here fat-soluble vitamins means it stores in the body tissues and liver in terms of fat and present for fewer days. Carotenoids are plant pigments responsible for producing different color combinations of fruits and vegetables.

These carotenoids in fruits and vegetables are converted by the body into vitamin A.
Vitamin A strengthens the immune system of the human body which helps in preventing problems of urinary, respiratory, and intestinal tact.

It helps the eyes to improve healthy vision so that it van differentiate between light and dark colors and also it prevents most of the eye related problems.
This vitamin makes the layer called dentine present on our teeth and and prevents dental related problems.

This vitamin will produce a compound called calcium phosphate which prevents pain, nausea and vomiting caused in the urinary system.

Vitamin A deficiency can occur when people do not consume enough vitamin A or beta-carotene. Lack of vitamin A may cause loss of hair, dry skin, and brittle nails, low resistance to infections, less reproduction of epithelical cells. Poor bone strength can also be a sign of a vitamin A deficiency, poor night vision or a decreased ability to see in poorly lit areas irrelevant to eyes is another symptom that can be associated with deficiency of vitamin A.
